(He arched a brow as he listened to her, and couldn't help the guilty look that overtook his features, but really he didnt understand why she was so upset. She didnt have a hundred or more families depending on her to keep food on the table for them.. it was a lot of responsibility and a hell of a lot of stress.) I said I was sorry I pissed you off, not that I was doing things that needed to be done. (He said flatly, his gaze lingering on her as she got up and stood before him. He hated when she was angry with him, it tore him apart.. but he didnt know how to take it easy.. he never had.) No thanks.. but a bottle of water would be really great.. (He produced a couple ones and a bottle of pain meds, handing the ones to her and setting the meds on his leg.) (He thanked the nurse with a murmur of appreciation, moving to Haylie's side again and taking a seat for the few moments before the doctor arrived. He looked up at her, smiling a little in that nervous sort of manner he had with doctors.) I wasn't there when it started, but Shay said she was having sharp pains at timed intervals.. and when I got there and it happened she was in so much pain she could barely hold onto me. She was all muscle cramps and there wasn't much I could do for her. (It was quite obvious he was feeling downright sorry for her.)
