Author: CW--OK--here's my take on your analysis, Rabid
Subject: This episode was like the last chapter of a VERY good book--leading into the next book of the series. IMHO

Hopefully this will make some sense. First of all William is Mulder and Scully's son. It was evident all the way through to me. She had only been part of the experiment in the beginning where they took her ova. William was hers and Mulders son--which surprised the aliens and which is why they wanted to get their hands on him. The prosecutor said what he was told to say. He was a pawn in the alien's hands and he knew it--just doing what he was forced to do I think.

JD and MR have to be part of the story now that they to know how to get rid of the Super Soldiers. It took them by surprise and I had to laugh at the look on their faces when Knole Rohr took a rocket nose-dive into the dirt forcing them to jump to safety. Hilarious!

I think that Mulder was kept alive so that CSM had many opportunities to be close to the woman he thought he loved. He had said that he never loved Jeffrey's mother. Also, Samantha had to be given up because she was actually Mulder's half sister.

As for CSM--I loved the way he was finally wiped out. He was the evil that Mulder spoke of at the trial. Who (or "what") knew where he was hiding out is a mystery though. I wondered how they knew where to send the helicopters? It tells me that he was still part of the plot even though he was ill. If the aliens were shooting missiles to cover up the earth to protect themselves, did they succeed?

(Wm. Davis looked like death himself--good make up or is he realy sick?)

I think that Mulder's esp is back--maybe Gibson taught him how to use it again or else he never forgot--just pretended that he didn't have it anymore. I also think that Gibson answered all of Mulder's questions about Spender, etc. which is why Mulder didn't look too surprised at the trial. His only surprise was seeing Krycek (that I could see anyhow.)

Loved the return of TLG. They were hilarious as usual.

As for the the old guy Gibson said was an alien in the FBI--I think he is the alien form of CSM. The new bad guy.

Kersch is probably dead or else in hiding or else transformed into a SS. Just my guess. As for Skinner--he probably is safe as he really hadn't done anything to provoke the tribunal. I liked the look on the prosecutors face as he knew this whole thing was a sham too. It was like he felt guilty prosecuting an innocent man.

All in all, there were a lot of answers and a wonderful ending. I think they were in the same motel from the Pilot and that was such a cool touch the way Mulder referred to their first assignment ending up in a motel room like this one.

I am waiting for the next "book" to come out!
