Wow, det, did you make this one up just for me?? Do we have to limit ourselves to characters who are actually currently alive and on planet Earth?? Because one of my favorite alternative universe fanfic couples is. . . Melissa Scully and Agent Pendrell. I've been surprised at the number of people who have wrote to tell me they think these two would have been perfect for each other.
Here are a few other possiblities:
Skinner and his secretary (aka the real-life Pileggis)
Byers and Suzanne
Mrs. Scully and Arthur Dales (either the one in Florida *OR* the one in Washington)
Langley and the Phoebe from "First Person Shooter"
Jimmy and Yves
The good-looking San Diego cop from "Christmas Carol/Emily" and Scully's African Doctor friend from "The Sixth Extinction"
