I've yet to see evidence of this attack. If you think the police shutting down The Long Sleep counts, you're fantasizing. For all we know, there really could have been drugs there. And Jimmy may have raided a constuct himself and killed a handful of people in "self defense" while there to warrant the shutdown. The Technocracy I know from the books is made up of individuals who only have so many resources, and would not waste them pursuing a handful of kids who aren't causing any trouble, and who they probably don't even know are awakened. And if the books were written by traditionalists, as they certainly seem to be, then the technocracy as described may be filled with scary government spook conspiracy propaganda.

Dawn seems to be, not suprisingly considering her relationship with Joe, rather more advanced than we are. She was doing a good deal more than sensory magic when that happened. Didn't she say something about visiting the Umbra, or at least talking to a spirit or something?

I certainlly hope you're right. I have no illusions about the fact that I may be forced to turn to the Traditions eventually, and I just hope it doesn't mean comletely giving up my freedom to choose what I want to do with my life.
