Jody: You hit the nail on the head - the key word here is VOLUNTEER! All information regarding fundraising and academics is fully accessible to anyone. You can either go to the school office or call to obtain the answers you are seeking. I believe that we should applaud the efforts of the few who have/are donating their time and energies to make Beatty a better school. It is indeed a sad commentary that so few of us attend the General meetings of PTA. I know that I have not attended a single meeting for at least two years and am not a current card carrying member of PTA. And as such I have no right to question how monies are being spent by the current Board. I am grateful that these women are willing to spend countless hours in presenting programs (i.e. Teacher Appreciation Day, Take Mom/Dad to School, Field Day, etc) and purchasing needed supplies for our school. If anyone of us has a problem as to how things are being done then we need to look within ourselves and decide if we want to be a parent volunteer and commit our time and energies by serving on the PTA Board to the best of our abilities.
