  • I am from the coast of Maine. My great-grandfather served in WWI at a Naval Radio station there - Fabris radio station (later moved to Winter Harbor). My great grandmother always claimed that my great-grandfather and his coworkers received the first word from Europe that the war was over. And he didn't even notice. My son loves soup. Last week he gobbled up beef barley and left the cooked carrots at the bottom of the bowl. DD, 13, on the other hand doesn't like beef or brothy soups. So she had a chicken salad sandwich instead. I told her I shoulda taken out a portion of soup for her and thickened it with cream and then it would have been a cream of chicken leek soup and she could eat it!!!!
