Subject: Burst would be tricky, full auto, no problem...

It would be fairly easy to construct a full-auto trigger for a blowback semi, all you would have to do is link the sear more directly to the trigger, so that the sear was down as long as the trigger was held... However, as everyone's probably experienced when their gun starts cycling due to lack of air, a normal blowback can cylce *really* fast.....way too fast to feed paint (I wonder if a warp feed could do it? never used one myself).....so here's my thinking... use a lighter (but longer) spring, and make the body of the gun roughly twice as long. You would need additional ball detents because the bolt would have to travel back much farther, and vertical feed would be an absolute necessity....probably a Ricochet hopper because of it's one-way feed. ROF could be tweaked by changing the weight of the spring, mass/length of the bolt, and the length of the reciever....lighter spring, heavier bolt and longer throw would, if properly balanced so velocity and gas usage remained the same, result in a fully auto, pure mechanical blowback.
