Heck yea it sounds low , my local fields chrono at 280 to 290! Yea it would be safer but still depending on what kind of outdoor field you are talking about , if its a woods game, I think thats too low, but in a speedball game that would be alright I guess , even on our speed ball fields here we still clock in at 285!
