They will always arc down slightly, it's gravity...but all else being ideal, that should be predictable and consistent (gravity doesn't change all that much). Look to variations in your velocity, quality of your barrel, paint/barrel match, age/quality/roundness of paint, and how clean your barrel/breech is. All these things can cause balls to fly un-predictably.

Velocity:
1. Regulator keeps input pressure consistent, eliminating spikes and wild fluctuations.
2. Internal polish job -- smooths operation of action, resulting in more consistent valve operation and gas-flow.

Barrel / Paint
1. Match paint to barrel (remember if paintballs roll through, it's too loose, if you CAN'T stick one in the end and blow it out, it's too tight) -- Get a barrel with a bore closer in size to the paint that's available in your area fields/stores, or get paint that matches your barrel.
2. Barrel quality -- not much to say about this, so many people have different ideas about what makes a good barrel
3. Paint quality -- Do not expect old paint (a couple months or more) to shoot well. The fill settles, changes in humidity cause dimples, or they go out of round over time, or they're just made poorly (I've actually seen a batch of "unnamed" brand paint look more like eggs than balls, even when they were fresh)
4. Keep your barrel clean - a good pull-through squeegee with a swab will keep everything nice 'n' clean and dry. What I like to do, is pull the bolt out through the back of my F4, run the pull-through all the way through the upper chamber and barrel (this gets everything), clean the bolt, put everything back together, put a few drops of oil in, and I'm ready to go. Paint, oil and muck in the barrel is probably my #1 cause of ball breaks and wild shots.
