It would never work. It only works on a golf ball because when the ball comes off the face of the club it has backspin, which causes lift, which in turn gives longer distances. When a paintball comes out of the barrel, you have no control of which way it spins. (unless you have a flatline type barrel setup) If it came out spinning sideways, you'd get some really wicked curves, just like when you bust a ball in the barrel. Just my 2c...
