Since you don't have an elbow, you probably have the newer "bullet" bottomline (which I personally dislike) with the single 1/8 NPT port sticking straight out the front...

What you should do is remove ALL fittings (Gas fittings) that may be in your setup, and screw the X-chamber into the vertical ASA...while holding the top (silver part with two flat spots) with a crecent wrench, loosen the bolt on the bottom *slightly* just enough to turn the body so that the hole in the bottom is where you want it...then tighten the bolt back down (you will need a 3/16 allen wrench for this...at least I think that's the size)....you probably will want the hole pointing directly at the bottomline (for the shortest possible hose)...

Then go down to the local paintball shop, and buy two macroline fittings (probably two straight, but get what you need for how you want it set up), and a piece of hose. Then go to a hardware store and get a roll of Teflon tape (if the PB shop doesn't have any).

Wrap the threads of the fittings with 2-3 wraps of tape, and screw one into each port (one on the ASA, and one on the X-chamber). Hand thread them in to make sure nothing's cross-threaded, then tighten them snug (you don't need to lean on it, just comfortably tight with a box-end wrench of the appropriate size, either 12mm or 7/16, probably).

Then, with the X-chamber screwed in, once again make sure that the fittings line up straght with each other, then figure out how long the hose needs to be....remember, if it's too long, you can make it shorter, but if it's too short, it will leak or blow out when pressurized.

YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE BOTTOMLINE ASA FROM THE GRIP FRAME. Push both ends of the hose securely into each fitting and re-attach the ASA...if the screws don't line up, pull one end off and shave a little off the end of the hose 'till it's the right length...When installed, the hose will be bent, and it may be hard to bend it enough. Don't let the hose kink, if need be, warm it with some hot water to soften it a little (but not so hot you can't hold your hand in it)

TO REMOVE MACROLINE / MICROLINE FROM A FITTING:

Push on micro/macroline works by squeezing down on the hose harder as it is pulled out....so you can't pull it out, it's designed to hold back high pressures....what you need to do, is push the clamp part back into the fitting with oe hand, while gently pulling and twisting with the other....you shouldn't have to force it.

That should be about all you need to know....you CAN do it with microline or steel braided hose if you like.

For steel hose, just take your marker down to the shop and see what length you need...Mine came to me with steel hose in the same setup you're trying to get, I just don't have the hose here with me, or I'd tell you how long it is.

Microline instructions are essentially identical to Macroline.
