 Traveller saw the grimace. He could only assume an accident had befallen Rockets mate and she had been taken away or killed. Or perhaps it was Rocket who was taken away and that was why his daughter Tawny was not with him? Traveller did not think that was as likely. After all, the vixen had to be at least three years old. The red had taken it that Rockets family relations was more similar to Dreamers close knit family to his own cool indifferent relationship with his mother. However, this Tawny sounded perfectly old enough to be out on her own and having her own family. Perhaps she hadnt wanted to accompany her father back to his old home.
Traveller yawned and tried to look interested but not nosy. He didnt want Rocket to think he was prying but he felt he deserved to know something about this new ally (for Traveller was now sure that either Rocket was on their side or he was prepared to stay neutral and not fight them.) "I assume youve returned to see if-ah-times and hearts have changed? Its a brave move. The war drags everyone into it. I meant to stay neutral but its hard to stop taking sides when your mate's family is on one side and the other side is threatening your parent and dominating the farm." He pulled a face. He hadnt thought much of Thorn and Sky, despite the fact that the young blue female had made a deal with his own mate. He muttered something under his breath along the lines of "I had as much right to raid a farm as those blue imbaciles." Then he coughed and continued talking normally. "Anyway, it was a good thing for us and my mother that you chose to return. Or things could have turned out very differently."
