Dear Cassie

In reply to your first posting on "Holding ourselves gently" - and I may be speaking out of turn here, so please feel free to ignore what I say! - but it sounds to me like you still have a pretty strong Judge living in there with you somewhere. (I know because I had one too, but recently I've given him/her their marching orders!). My Judge was my conditioned Mind which felt it always had to be Perfect and always had to cope etc. etc. One way this unravelled for me was via a conversation with Ted (Strauss) where he pointed to this Perfectionist/Idealist type on the Enneagram. Knowing now that the bodymind IS limited and CAN'T be perfect, give yourself a break. I went around for a while with the "mantra" in my head of "The pain of Imperfection". But it worked a treat. I saw (and am still seeing) how for years I, in my limited form, have tried to live up to some ideal of Perfection (mimicking the Absolute!) and how utterly impossible this was and is. No wonder I was always feeling I'd failed - and the frustration of that.

As for other people being better - it's all a lie and a charade! I'm sure people look at you and think the same. I KNOW people do that to me - I can be in utter despair and I still somehow put a smile on my face when I go to work. I'm not trying to deceive others; I find even if I don't go to work with a smile on my face many of the people there "presume" my life is just fine and dandy. If only they knew!

Much love

Gillxxx
