There's something here, Ben, that I can't quite grasp. Let me poke and feel around a little and see if I can't make it out.

When you talk about resting in "not knowing" I feel two things. One, that this stance is most appropriate. For it is only from this place that we are open to what may come. When we already know any or everything, there is no room for something new to happen. And so I love this concept as a stance toward everything that comes our way.

The second thing I feel is that in this stance of not knowing we must be ever alert and open to whatever happens. Its almost like our lives are living dreams that could be interpreted in the same way as a sleeping dream. What comes is often what we need. Maybe not always, but often, I suspect.

And so I guess what I'm feeling here is that the mind does have its place in this confusing dream we call our lives. No it isn't the prime minister of the kindgom anymore [I love Saniel's King/Queen analogy on p. 133 in "The White Hot Yoga of the Heart".] because now it's subject to the Queen or King. But as this subject surely it has its place. I think that this has something to do with recognition yoga. Somehow when the mind "gets it" something profound happens in the kingdom.

I can't explain this well because it hasn't quite turned to jello in my "mind" but I'd love to go exloring here with you or anyone else who is so inclined.

What are your thoughts on what happens for you when you just stay seated in not knowing. Do you find that a kind of wisdom comes when you just sit and wait? What happens when we make an inquiry into something and then recieve an answer later and unexpectedly? Can this not knowing lead to a knowing of a different sort than what the mind provides?

Inquiringly yours, Cassie
