She was never in any danger, dumbdumb.’ It took a lot to cause Audrey a lot of pain, and a twist of a joint was not nearly painful enough to cause her to cry out. Okay, not painful, but uncomfortable and awkward. Truth be told, had she really fancied hurting anyone, she would have done so without batting a lash. Zeth really should not have gotten as close to Audrey as he did and threaten her. She was, after all, very juvenile-esque and usually had very poor impulse control. And without batting said lash, the thumb on her other hand pressed firmly against his gut, her fingernail more of a barb than nail. Zeth started it by making it physical. Unfortunately for Zeth, Audrey’s type was venomous. ‘I don’t drink. Nor do I smoke. Disgusting habits.’ Breathe. Inhale.
