The other thread was cumbersome to read.

Raven, you are forgetting one thing.

In Brian's books only the Baron and Mohiam knew that she caused his disease.

The Baron chose to tell no one at all, not a single soul, he chose to let everyone including his closest advisors think it was due to his opulence, over-indulging, lest it weaken his power. Or worse yet the Emperor would find out and remove him from his position.

Mohiam only told her Superiors. This would have been a closely held secret. Leto II would have known via memory, but would not necessarily tell Moneo.

Now although I DO consider Brian's work canon, I do think there are BIGGER errors that you guy's should be discussing. Forget Mohiam & the Baron, as that is the most possible tale told in the books.

What about the close relationship to Ix and the House Minor there? That was never ever discussed in Dune. Although this could be rectified with a major rift in the in-between years. Maybe B & K will cover this in the proposed Paul of Dune series about his first 15 years.

Paul born on Kaitan? That was never before mentioned, in fact Dune states outright he was born on Caladan.

but as long as the books are authorized by the Herbert estate, and produced by his son, then they are by strictest sense canon.

Personally I want to see the Dune Concordance that BH talks about on the official site. Probably released as a cd-rom he says, which can show jpg's of original notes and more then a mere book could give us.

my 2 cents

Jay
