's message, "Re: ~*~*a ballet in the air...*~*~" on 19:47:41 06/30/03 Mon ~+~*after a while, she calmed down enough to talk, then began her story.*~+~ my name is Norika, Junior Bard born on the 12th Moon of the Sanctuary, then moved to be trained in the Bardic Haven on the 56th Moon. i trained there for about 4 years before i became a full Bard. i, umm... was planning on leaving the Sanctuary and traveling to other worlds to try and promote peace through music, but i got sidetracked..... a frest clutch of Dragon Eggs had recently hatched, you see. one of them approached me to see if our spirits were a match for a bond, and presented me her stone. it was a match, so there was nothing i could do- but i later realized how lucky i was to have become a Rider, even if i could no longer travel freely. my dragon was a Ruby, or a Red as some call them. ~+~*she turned to the dragon behind her, and rubbed its nose. you saw then that the deep red dragon was covered in fur, not scales.*~+~ her name is Saalem, which in the Dragon Tongue, meand 'Bright Spirit' which she clearly is. so, we have been together for 2 years now. as for the Emerald Rider, i do not know his name, but his dragon is called Aremeth. supposedly, it is a dragon that once protected the Sanctuary Gates until it got too old, then went out to seek a way to stay alive forever so that it could watch its post. it did that, somehow, and has chosen many different Riders over the ages, never really bonding to any of them fully. he is, well, for lack of better words, desperate to be Called back to the Sanctuary, because he can no longer access the gates. he was excommunicated when he gained his immortality, you see. he wants to get back. the easiest way to get Called is to kill another Rider, which gets an instant Summons. i suppose we were in the wrong place when he decided to attack me.... i was in a newly born world, not far from where Ashavar sits, in order to request permission to join a Wing under a Gold Rider who was stationed there. i got attacked opening a Gate to return home, and as a result, messed up the input... we ended up here then. Saalem- i am not old enough to fight properly..... not yet. i chose my Rider at a very young age, and thus missed out on a great number of chances to learn. however, i have also gained a great many more, so i have no regrets. Norika- we have never had to fight..... because i had never joined a Wing, we have traveled to different worlds so that i can keep in practice as a Bard. i have at times wished that we had stayed at the Sanctuary, but.... all in all, i think that being on my own has been good for me.... your group does not seem to pose any great threat to me or Saalem, so i am not ashamed of telling this to you. although..... many of you do appear to be ill, maybe. i think it is because you came here by Gate when a virus was passing through the lines. you might want to get it checked out before it gets too serious..... Saalem- we can not linger here long. the Emerald's Rider is a Healer, they will be upon us soon. can you help us? i am sure that there is something that we can do in return, but i am not sure what yet.... ~+~*Norika climbed back onto the Dragon's back, resting on trhe serpentine body between the long wings and shoulders. Saalem WAS more serpent-like than dragon-like, as were all Ruby Dragons. you had never seen one up close before. she was quite beautiful, yet with an essence of power around her. you knew by watching that she could fly faster than most other dragon's, a trait shared by Ruby's. the girl, as well, seemed to be too mature for her own age. she was sitting there clutching her beloved flute, in fear of dropping it. she grabbed onto one of Saalem's horns as she studdied you in silence.*~+~ Norika- please..... if we fly, we will me seen..... ~+~*Saalem's legs were long considering her body shape, but still short by most standards, and very thin. she was not built for land travel- she was built for air and water. this would be difficult if you accepted her offer.*~+~ [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
