Subject: Gray Feis: New placement rules?

Since when do they place 9 in a group of 15 dancers with no ties? They did not do this for any other group on day one. What’s the reasoning? Is it a coincidence of that the 9th place finisher is a Gray dancer? The registration numbers are already low, and this does not make anyone want to register for more feis.

It’s common when the dancer placing “one out” is from the school hosting, they are placed. Lots of feises do this.

[> Subject: Flabbergasted by one more child getting a trophy? Really? This has been common practice in my 20+ years in Irish dance. How is it suddenly taking you by surprise? And why do you begrudge a child a 9th place trophy? Obviously everyone who can do basic math knows 9th place is not in the top 50%. It's not hurting anyone.

Hopefully NE won't hire any of them to adjudicate the O.

It is true that they ask, but there are feis with organizers that will not give an extra trophy in a comp just because it is their dancer. Some have integrity!!
