Chris, I think that Bush did the right thing in choosing to invade Iraq and oust Saddam Hussein. Whether or not his vendetta was personal, Hussein was a horrible man who needed to be dethroned. Though children may have died in the war, people have also been saved both physically and spiritually. The gospel has been preached in Iraq now more than ever before. I also don't necessarily believe that peace is made through pacificism. I think that Bush held on to Ronald Reagan's motto of "peace through strength". The rest of the world hates Bush? Good! It means that he's not backing down because of people's opinions. That's something that most politicians don't have--convictions.

Besides all of this war business, Kerry is the most liberal, pro-gay candidate to ever vie for the presidency. If you recall the rest of history, empires are not destroyed from the outside, but from the inside. Our nation is in trouble enough--along with the rest of the rapidly decaying world--with its poor social standards and morally bankrupt people. We need people with strong moral convictions to lead our country, not expert finaciers or corrupt debutantes such as Kerry.

You may know a thing or two about world politics, Chris, but the real agendas behind politicians is what they believe in, what they are driven by. If you don't think Bush is a Christian, then you might be placing a judgment on him that isn't yours to make. The fact is that he represents more Christian beliefs than any other candidate I have seen in my lifetime, and that might be why the rest of the world hates him. He's willing to defend what he believes in, unlike vacillating Kerry, and stand by it no matter what anybody else thinks. Kerry is not that kind of person.

I may not see the big picture, but I know that Kerry would not be a good president. He would only further destroy our country with his poor leadership and corruption. What I am most concerned about is what Kerry will do when he is in office. He will stop at nothing to legalize same-sex marraige, partial birth abortion, and God knows what else. That will only cause our nation to slide further down its slippery slope.

-----

I want to add that, in spite of our disagreements, I respect your opinion and that we can agree to disagree, that we are entitled to our opinions. Over and above our wordly struggles, God is the master of this universe (He-Man!) and He is in control. I believe that the majority of visitors to this forum all have a personal relationship with Christ, and that His love is greater than our opinions. (Even though my opinion is right. HA! I'm just kidding.) Let us affirm each other, then, by reminding each other that we are brothers and sisters in Christ-family-and the ties that bind us are stronger than that which can tear us apart.

I know I gave a rather strong reply, but I want you to know that it would be better not to get offended at it, but take it for what it is worth. That way, we will not let something like this be divisive. Feel free to respond if you wish.

Sincerely,

Tom
