If we do get to have 5 provincial teams, which individually would incorporate a squad of say, 35-40 players. Maybe 5 of these would be from Pontypool, thus taking the cream of the team, would you still be happy to hand over your £10 on match day, when your stars are elswhere, playing a game which would have no commercial meaning to PRFC?. Could you go to Rodney Parade and line the pockets of Tony Brown with £10-15, actively endorsing the man who has wielded the axe on club rugby and it's aspirations. Is "Gwent Rugby Club", really the answer?. Just take a look at the imports at NRFC, what an impact they have had on the season, it looks as if the gravy train is about to hit the "buffers".

Your e-mail is missing the point as regards provinces. To answer your first question, yes I would be prepared to see the cream of our team put into a province, because it would improve welsh rugby (thats what should matter above all else). You have to move beyond your narrow club bias. Also with provinces, the top players wouldn't be missing for every game. And as for lining Tony Brown's pockets. I wouldn't be doing that, as under a provinical system of rugby there would be no need for backers. The top 200 players in Wales would be paid by the WRU and split into 5 or 4 provinces. These players would be paid only by the WRU for provinival games and for internationals. Below the provinves you could have a healthy amateur club scene (as they have in the southern hemishere and Ireland). This would remove many people currently playing rugby purely for the money. To get paid in this Welsh structure you would have to play well enough to be offerred a contract by the WRU. Ofcourse if somebody does want to back a club side, they could be allowed to, but there wouldn't really be any point. As regards to your point about watching rugby at Rodney Parade. Your correct in that I would never watch NEWPORT play there, but I would support a GWENT side playing there. One further point I would like to add, why do you think the French and the English don't want Welsh provinces in Europe. No its not just because the rules say so (they could be changed if we really want to). Its because they know welsh provinces would be strong, and more importantly would win. I hope that clears the matter up for you

Provincial players would only be available to their relative clubs, when and if there were no provincial games/training sessions. Bearing in mind that these cream players would also be restricted in gametime as per WRU initiative.
We have some class players spread throughout Wales, these players will, and have taken, the highest buck available, and they will continue to do so. This is a profession after all my friend.
In regard to your comments regarding English/French sides feel intimidated by our pending involvment in provincial rugby, what a load of bo****ks!. You are living on planet naivity. They, and others consider Welsh rugby a laughing stock. Where would your loyaly be if PRFC were kicking off at 2.30pm on a saturday afternoon at the park, and the future of Gwent provincial rugby were kicking off at the same time at another venue?

My proposals are not a load of B****** as you so intelligently put it! There backed by Bob Jude for one thing. Welsh rugby has plenty of talent, and would be able to compete on the international stage if the correct domestic structure is in place. As regards your comments on dual kick off times, well that just shows you brain can't seem to understand basic concepts. I wouldn't have to decide whether to watch the Gwent side or Pontypool, because the games would be played in different times of the season!!! But hey, you go on supportng welsh club rugby as it stands, and watch the games die and football takeover!!!

There you go again talking s***. The mainframe of the Irish provincial season, where players are dragged together from their "local" clubsides and train together in the provincial set-up, their respective clubsides still play with what squad remain. All this you will find DOES conflict with playing. Provincial and league rugby DO occupy the same kick off times, and you will find that players that are in the provincial setup, will not play many games for their respective club side per season.
And since when has Bob Jude's voice become gospel. Your opinion is valued, if only in your eyes.

Well boy
your attitude shows all that is wrong with welsh rugby. Provinces work, open your eyes. But you go on dreaming of past glories, hoping they will come back under the present system - and you will be waiting a long time. Don't you get it! In provinicial rugby everything is built towards the success of the national team, so yes I would be willing for pooler to lose some players, and maybe lose a game because of it, if it meant it helped wales.
WAKE UP YOU STUPID FOOL
