(He wasn't pissed off because he was jealous, he trusted Haylie and he knew for a damn fact that she was attracted to him.. he was pissed because there was a strange man that was bigger than him in his home around Shay and the baby- who were incapable of protecting themselves against a man his size. He knew Haylie could hold her own, and that if he were to stand up that he could show his posessiveness, but he didn't feel his manhood threatened, he felt his territory threatened by the other man. When Haylie joined him at the bar, he put his arm around her back and let his hand rest on her hip, making a mocking face to copy what Braden was saying - sure it was adolescent behavior, but he was feeling crabby at the moment and despite the urge to jump the other man, this was his only available outlet for frustration.) (He was getting a bit annoyed by Kyrian, though he didn't show it as he looked his new recruit over. He had already decided to transfer the guy in and had, in fact, already had his papers started and they had only to be signed. He was impressed that the man didn't back down, pleased that he chose instead to show his displeasure.. even if he came off a bit cockier than he would have liked... that sort of thing could be good for delta and good for Kyrian too. Although he wasn't very impressed with his friend's behavior at the moment, he was willing to assume that the jibes that were passing between them were because of the location and intimacy of their meeting.) With all due respect, Major, I know you can make the grade in the field with the best of the best.. the cut I am talking about is whether or not you can fit into my team. (He smiled as he looked down at Shay, letting her take the now squirming Chase from him, leaning down to press a loving kiss to her forehead. He found it amusing how the girls were so struck by the man in the room.. like Kyrian he didnt feel threatened by the man's presense.) This is my wife, Shaylin. (He introduced her, his arm around her shoulders as he took in Braden's change in stance with a bit of amusement.. this was going to be some experience trying to get Kyrian and Braden to work together.. he just hoped that once he got the new female agent in there and got everyone back into training that things would settle down all around.) Now, if you're up to it we can talk logistics and get your papers signed. (He had a bit of a cocky side to himself as well, and every now and then it would show itself.) (He groaned a little at Haylie's playful prodding.) If I go lay down then I can't glare at the new guy. (He said in a voice meant only for her, his forehead against her temple as he pulled her into his arms more, smirking. He lifted his head to take another swallow of his beer, his eyes moving over Braden and Remy as they talked, Shay looking awestruck beside her husband.. it was sick really. )
