and I cannot argue any of the points you soundly make. I would say though, even if one is not of faith but lives a very "clean" life, his/her chances are as good as those who are of faith.

I think it depends on the person. Some people are crazy religious. Their religion causes them stress, because they think they have to convert the world. They take it upon themselves to make sure that everyone they come across hears the word. There are some, too, who are so hard on themselves, trying to be perfect, that I think they kinda snap.

I've noticed that some of the stricter denominations tend to attract the formerly reckless types--criminals, alcoholics, drug addicts, etc. I think they gravitate to the controlling nature of the religion--lots of rules combined w/ intense relationships w/ everyone in the congregation. I think they might live longer than they would if they hadn't "found religion".

So I guess it depends on the person.

They say that having a pet extends your life, too. But I find pets more work than they're worth. They bark, shed, insist on eatting, etc. :-) I think a dog would put me in an early grave. :-)

Joan
