of the authority of the Catholic Church. W/O believing in that authority, you couldn't say that you (universal you) that the Bible is the infallible word of God. The Catholic councils determined the canon and then a Pope closed the Canon forever. If you don't believe that the Catholic Church is guaranteed infallibility in regard to faith and morals through the Holy Spirit, there is absolutely no way of knowing for sure that the books included in the Bible, and only those books, is the correct canon.

So, I know that the Bible is correct because I believe in the Catholic Church's infallible authority regarding faith and morals.

I believe that, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the councils and pope that decided and closed the canon got it right.

I'm not sure how others decide that the Bible is correct as it stands, but that's how I know.

They believe the bible to be the word of God written by man, who made mistakes in its interpretation. The book of Mormon, but especially the Doctrine and Covenants correct the mistakes written in the King James version of the bible.
