Don't take this the wrong way. I really don't know any other way to put it...

If the bible forbids something, such as theft, pride, and visiting fortune tellers...et al, I assume it's not for the purpose of being there for just good reading, ;) but it must be there for my own good. The old testament is filled with some rules, guidelines and boundries that seem absurd by today's standard. Some were men's rules and not God's, but he allowed them being a tolerant of man's ignorance. However, there are some that he was specific about and I assume for a purpose. But God said he doesn't change. So if I do something in direct contrast to what he says to not do, regardless of my intentions, good or even for fun, then I expect it sets in motion something that will have an adverse reaction. For every action there is a reaction. Some think God's word forbids us "fun and a good life" (Eve thought so too) but I don't see it that way. I think his words are there to help us, protect us and guide us. Do I believe in foretune tellers? Sure. They're real. Do I belive they know about me and what's to be expected of my life? I doubt it. Besides the God word (Jerimiah I think)says something to this effect "I know the For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."...

I reckon he knows and that's good enough for me. :)

When I looked it up as to why the Catholic Church is against it. There was a mention of Jeremiah 10:2.

A lot has to do with the occult, that is why the Catholic Church is against it.

When I was in college. There was a girl from Washington D.C., she lived a few doors down from me in my dorm. She dressed all in black. She worshipped Satin. A friend of mine was in this girl's room with three other people. They were playing with a ouija board. My friend she was a Baptist, and the three others all thought it would be fun. My friend said that books, pens, everything in the room started flying around in the room. Another girl who was Catholic, and from Missouri, said it felt like a tornado. They tried to leave the room. But they couldn't move. I remember the event well. It was in the evening. I was sitting in my room hanging out with a few friends. All of a sudden we heard all this noise. When we came out into the hall. A crowd had already gathered. We could hear loud noises, and screams coming from this room. I remember two RA's tried to open the door. They could only open it a few inches. As they did, where I was standing I remember this blast of very cold air coming from the room. When everything stopped, and my friend came out of the room her face was white and she was shaking.
