Author: S'sha & Kylith ((Korea, Archallo))
Subject: [long-lost friends]
In reply to: Kain - Raideth 's message, "And me?" on 21:40:50 03/29/05 Tue

S'sha hugs the young rider tightly when, somewhat to her surprise, he embraces her again, and then she smiles. "No need to apologize, Ryu... er, scorch it, R'jari." Rolling her eyes at hard habits to break, she gestures backwards to her two comrades. "R'nos and Leth, T'yin and Viouth... I don't know how well you knew our former brown 'second and weyrlingmaster before we... left." Eyes cloud as though a storm approached the blue orbs, but the smile doesn't fully disappear from her lips. "Please, R'jari, tell us what's been going on in these past Turns... we've been out of touch with everything."

Golden Korea, her sinuous body draped across the queenrider's broad shoulders, trills a lazy but amiable (and rather belated) greeting to R'jari's five-strong fair. Archallo, on the other hand, is practically hopping about, inspecting each "new" flitter closely and personally, chittering incessantly as though making smalltalk. Idly, S'sha reaches up a hand to stroke her little queen's freshly oiled hide, a grin tugging at her lips at her older blue's antics.

The sheer weight of a gold dragon's mindforce seems to lean against Maeroth, an instinctive and forceful method of calming his exuberance. No need to broadcast our return, Maeroth, she says simply, tone almost cold. I am no senior queen any longer, but by age alone, and Viouth and Leth hold no rank either. New Isle will learn of our presences dragon by dragon, as we see them. It is very, very obvious that the mature queen is unhappy with the total loss of her rank, not even being primary junior queen anymore--and, fact of the matter is, she only resigned herself to being junior queen once under her own mother, Ginny's Areyeth. And now, Kylith's own daughter is her senior? The gold is grumpy, to put it bluntly, and she'll take it out on Maeroth without much hesitation.

Then, Korea scrabbles against S'sha's neck and shoulders to propel herself suddenly into the air, creeling loudly and shrilly as she swoops in erratic circles over the rider's head. Totally baffled, the older woman looks up, unable to understand the conflicting images her flit is tossing her: [black] [green] [dark] [shiny] [death] [living]. And then, as though exasperated, Korea makes a beeline upwards, where the shadow that is Raideth has just appeared. "Is that...?" S'sha whispers, almost to herself. Raideth and Kain, Kylith supplies, mindvoice low and cranky. However, the queen does cordially greet the long-lost pair before falling silent once more.

S'sha, on the other hand, isn't quite as repressed as her sulking lifemate, and in a few quick steps she's running towards Kain and almost tackling the taller rider in a tight but careful hug. "Kain!" she exclaims, grinning brightly as she pulls back. "Here, come, R'jari was about to catch us up on events since we... and a few other older riders, it seems... left." One strong, lean hand encircling the older woman's wrist lightly, the goldrider leads the greenrider back to the circle of weyrfolk.
