It�s alright to cry if you�re hurt�� Belatedly he wondered if he was doing it right � was this the right way to comfort someone who had been hurt like Synthis had? Ati or Lily would know how to do it. But he had never been sure of what to do when it came to looking after people�he was just M�att, and still too nervous of doing something wrong around Synthis to think he was comforting her well.

The truth was, M�att was scared of being Synthis�s weyrmate. Because that would mean they would have to go through their dragons� flight first, and he wasn�t too sure about that. What if he hurt her by accident? Would she ever forgive him if he did? Ashertith promptly told him not to be so silly � he wouldn�t hurt Synthis. How could he? He loved her too much. But it was M�att�s nature to worry, and worry he did.

Pulling a clean handkerchief from his pocket, the brownrider gently took Synthis�s face in his hands, and wiped her tears away. �I�ll look after you, Synthis. I promise.�

((The difficult thing about this is that M�att is just not a suspicious guy! *Pokes post* It�ll have to do, I guess. If it were S�peer, L�van�I could work it a bit better with the whole dodgy thing. But M�att is just so sickeningly nice�
