Subject: Getting the swing of my new church

So about three months ago, my family and I moved. We've been kinda "church hopping" but the last three weeks we've begun to feel very comfortable at a small country non-denominational church. Conservative, friendly.

One thing I noticed on the first Sunday we went there was a child taken out of service and then returned looking rather chastened.

Found out fairly quickly that there's a small room just outside the sanctuary that's soundproofed and not just for crying babies.

When we came back to it three weeks ago, that was part of the reason why. And this week, I made use of it for the first time.

My middle child, Emily, got to take a little trip with mommy to that little room because she wouldn't sit still during prayers and announcements. It was my first time in the room, and sitting right next to a baby changing table there was a small paddle. About the size of those paddle ball games, but a bit thicker. So I put it to good use on young miss Emily until she was a very sorry little girl.

After service, there was a handful of appreciative remarks and no condemnation from anyone there. I think we've found our new church family.
