I'm new here, and new to spanking. Well, I was spanked myself as a child, but that's another story.

I've been sitting for folks at my church, where I help out in the Sunday School class, for about 6 years, as well as for relatives and friends of the family.

I mostly get on really well with the kids, who I adore, but I have given the occasional spanking. I do mean occasional - like probably a dozen times.

Last Saturday night, I sat for some church folk, and when the parents came back I said the kid had been a bit restless and I had to put him back to sleep a few times as he kept getting up and crying for his mom. He's about 7, so a little old for that. I didn't spank him, as he seemed to genuinely miss his mom, and needed reassurance more than anything.

Of course, I mentioned this to his parents and his dad got real pissed. Not with me, but about the boy's behavior.

Anyway, in Sunday School the boy seemed real sad. I asked him what was wrong and he reluctantly told me his dad gave him seven licks of the belt for being bad for me. He said his bottom still hurt. I felt real bad for him.

I'm all for spanking when it's justified, I've given a few as I've said and made them hurt, but some folks are just plain mean.
