I would say the 5 YO averages once a week and the 8&10 YOs average twice a month for punishment.

In addition to punishment we also occasionally spank for maintenance or prevention. We don’t have a set schedule instead relying on mother’s instincts on when it would be appropriate and beneficial. I would say that’s about once a month for each. One rare occasions, like a couple times a year, we might do multiple spankings in a day to keep them warm and sore.

All are done either over the lap or in the diaper position. Always bare except for maybe a quick warmup. I use my hand only for the 5 YO, and hand or small plastic oval shaped paddle for 8&10. All three do bare corner time. I also like keeping 5 bare bottom with only a tshirt or pajama shirt on for a couple of hours afterwards because his little butt is so cute when red.
