How often do your children need discipline?

All of my children require regular discipline. The younger ones are spanked more often, but all have a weekly behaviour meeting each Friday evening. This is not a maintenance spanking as we discuss behaviour over the week before I or my husband will decide if a spanking is due for the week.

What role does prayer or your faith play in discipline?

My faith is at the heart of everything I do. Spanking is the biblical punishment for children so that is why it is used in our household.

is there a routine there or just bare and spank?

Yes, all spankings follow a routine. It is better for the parent spanking and better for the child being spanked. Once the misbehaviour is established and a spanking decided upon, then if we are not already there, we will go to the study where the child will have all clothes removed. The errant child must stand fully naked while I lecture them on their misbehaviour. Once the lecture is complete then they must submit to their spanking. Mostly this is over my knee with a small spanking paddle. For more serious offences, our "rod of correction" is a cane. This is not used frequently, and only from age 10 upwards. When receiving the cane, the child must bend over the arm of the small sofa we have in the study.

I deal with it by using verbal warnings and spanking once we return home.
