I do not know- a vision perhaps... Something yet to come that you will have to face. Things of that nature sometimes come through in times like this.

~*~*Her head snapped up, but her eyes remained closed.*~*~

....I feel another memory coming up.... Different, though- VERY VERY recent...... Perhaps the two are connected.....

~*~*The white color vanished, and was replaced by dark stone walls.*~*~

~*~*There were six people here- three men, three women. They seemed to be exploring an old castle of some sort, in near perfect darkness. Flash lights illuminated a stair well as they ascended from some point inside the stone walls. You noticed that there were no windows here, nor were there any torches or lanterns. You could not see to the end of the hall, even with all six lights shining in that direction. You followed the group in silence, until they reached an intersection that they had apparently visited many times before. Straight ahead of them was a large open area, to the left another stair well- and to the right, a massive wooden door with a small window of bars at eye level.*~*~

Boy 1- So, onward to the ball room or back up to the libraries. Name your poison.

Girl 1- Did you ever find the key to the other room? His highness was very specific about clearing EVERYTHING out before this place got knocked out.

Girl 2- No… Danyelle was too occupied with that damn mirror, and we didn’t even get it out yesterday.

Boy 2- Or the day before, or the day before. Just do something already- I’m tired of coming up here.

Boy 1- Ayami, see if you can pick that lock.

Ayami (Girl 1)- For the last time, NO! I’ve been trying for weeks!

Danyelle (Girl 3)- So you keep up with it. We need to get back upstairs.

Boy 1- Alright, this is the plan. John, Danyelle, and Amara- you go up to the library. Me and Jack will go to the ball room while Ayami works on the locks.

John- Right. Meet back at eight then? See you then, Nate.

~*~*The other groups all wandered away to their own destinations whilst Ayami pulled out a set of lock-picking devices- which she had probably compiled herself. She was probably very good at this art. From what you knew, this was a small mercenary group- who had been ordered to clear the castle out, and this room was the only one that they had yet to get in to. The vision progressed rapidly, until what was apparently the meeting time when the others returned. They all seemed amused that Ayami was still trying to pick the lock, and not having any luck. All of the others were hauling heavy bags filled with assorted items that they were going to be removing from the castle.*~*~

Nate- No luck?

Ayami- None what so ever.

Amara- Lets just go. We have done enough for tonight.

Ayami- You go ahead. I WILL finish this tonight… Leave a flashlight, though- the batteries in mine might give out.

~*~*They ended up leaving her two, before they set out and vanished. The memory progressed to later in the night, when she was on the last flashlight, and finally ready to give up. You finally got a decent look at her. She had cherry blonde hair hanging in beautiful waved to her waist, and she was dressed in a pair of black jeans and a light blue tank top. Her eyes were a shade of deep blue, and all in all, she was pretty- but not amazingly so. Her head went forward and hit the door as she dropped her small pick, and stood up.*~*~

Forget this… Mother will be getting worried about me.

~*~*She looked at her watch, and swore silently when she realized that it was about one in the morning. Leaving her tools behind, she began to walk down the hallway when a light click behind her halted the steps. The lock slowly opened, and hung limply on the door. After a moment, she jumped in the air and let out a screech of victory, before running back and knocking the lock off the door. You began to notice then just how eerie this place was. There was dust and cobwebs hanging from every corner of the walls, chipped stone- the entire place looked as though it was about to fall apart. You tried to shout a warning to her, but realized then that she could not hear you. She slowly pulled the door open on screaming hinges, and stepped in to view her victory.*~*~

~*~*The room was relatively large, with no furniture to speak of inside. A small, barred vent in the roof left the room open to the room above it, directly under another vent- the system of which went up several floors before opening to the sky, letting moonlight in. That made a very un-natural blue glow in the room. A large archway in the distance had a gate all of its own, closed- made only of tightly spaced vertical bars that blocked off a smaller passage way. She slowly made her way towards it, passing through the pool of moonlight. A small lever on the wall served to open the gate, as she walked through with her flashlight shining into the darkness. She headed for the single door at the end of the hall, and slowly pushed it open. That was her mistake.*~*~

~*~*A powerful wind picked up, and began pulling her in towards the room that had a darkness her light could not pierce. You heard her screaming and saw her fighting until her legs were swept out from under her, and she was pulled- thrashing wildly- into the room. There was something waiting for her in the darkness- and it stood over her, glaring down before it dove at her, red eyes burning- but then it seemed as if the creature had only been a warm wind. She refused to release the death grip on her flash light as she stood up, and looked around. There was no door in this room. A shaft of weak moonlight was reaching this room from a small hole in the roof, but that was it. The room its self was much like some kind of bed room. A ‘bed’ of stone sat in the center, with a small stone desk off to one side- cluttered with old papers that had no words on them. That however, was not what drew her attention. Standing in the room with her, you felt her fears beginning to grow.*~*~

~*~*Massive webs covered nearly every inch of this room, complete with the massive spiders. Not only were they spiders, but they had very visible stingers on their abdomens- like small scorpions. Creatures closely resembling centipedes and millipedes were oozing from under the desk, as were what appeared to be giant wasp creatures that were nearly the size of her palm. They all took immediate notice of her- but did not dare come within reaching distance of the light. They all lined up, waiting- knowing that the inevitable would happen. For Ayari, however, it began all too soon when her light began to flicker.*~*~

~*~*It was done. The light went out, leaving only the pale moon light to cast weak shadows into the darkness. You could almost feel the swarm move in on her- heard her screaming and vaguely saw her jumping as creatures crawled up onto her figure. Even in the pale light you could see the spider creatures beginning to wrap her in webs as she struggled to throw them off. And then, you heard a voice. Not hers, not her friends.*~*~

Stop fighting them, little one. They want only what is best for you…

~*~*She continued to scream and fight them, until some unseen force lifted her from the ground. Her screaming allowed the creatures to get into her mouth, and you shuddered to think what they were planning to do- as you could visibly see the larger ones moving down her throat. Her struggled came to an end once the webs had effectively bound her into a thin cocoon, and she was deposited by the unseen force on the bed of stone. She rolled onto her side and managed to curl into a ball, sobbing between mouthfuls of the spiders. The creatures still swarmed her, crawling through her hair and over her eyes- never letting her forget that they were there. She had, however, not been bitten or stung by any of them to your knowledge. She continued to sob for the remainder of the night, before something sent her to sleep. Even then, she was not at peace.*~*~

~*~*Her friends did not return to the castle until early the next morning. They found her tools next to the door, which had been locked since her departure.*~*~

Nate- AYAMI! WHERE ARE YOU?!

~*~*They were all calling into the darkness, but to no avail. In the dark room, which somehow kept sunlight from reaching it, the frightened girl lay on the bed with her eyes wide with fear. She could not speak with her mouth full of creatures, and she could not get up. She did not hear her friends- rather, she was listening to another voice in the darkness.*~*~

You belong to me… I’ll never let you go…

~*~*The voice repeated that chant over and over as the memory raced forward, perhaps a week. Her friends had all refused to return after nobody found a body, and all excursions to the castle were quickly halted. Ayami had, herself, changed quite a bit. Her hair had grown lighter until it was a lighter shade of gray that went with the stones, and her skin had been reduced to a pale grayish-yellowish-white in color. Her eyes had faded, and her clothed had vanished entirely. She was no longer in the bed, but she was free to roam the room in a spider-silk gown. She sat down in a corner, and paid little attention to the large centipede that crawled down her head and across her face. They were no longer swarming on her, but they were keeping her in line.*~*~

Voice- What do you desire, my child?

~*~*She had, apparently, gone somewhat insane in the week that the memory had progressed.*~*~

Ayami- I want it to go away…. I want it ALL to go away….

Voice- As you wish….

~*~*You saw a brief flash of the rest of the castle, as every furnishing, decoration, and item simply vanished. The only thing that remained was a mirror in the former library. You felt the strange force lift the girl, as both somehow melted through the wall. They came out in the ball room that had been explored the previous week. Something here was keeping a firm grip on the girl, something that was not going to let go of her. You could see in her eyes- she wanted to get away. As she raced towards the exit, all of the doors slammed and the gates shut. She could not even get down to the first level before the thing became enraged, and simply lifted her back up through the floors.*~*~

Ayami- Why?! Why can’t I leave?! I do not like it here! I want to go home!!

Voice- This is your home now, my pet… You are mine… I’ll never let you go…

~*~*The memory flashed forward again to Ayami looking into the mirror. The reflection looking back at her was one of herself in her previous state before she had entered the locked room, with a tall figure with red eyes standing behind her- though, physically, you saw no such figure anywhere in the room. The reflection slowly mutated to one of another girl, in some other room- with dark hair, and another dark figure behind her. The memory came to a screaming halt then, and you were returned to the white void.*~*~

~*~*Your guardian, though doing her best to give you support, seemed very shaken by what she had seen.*~*~
