She has been in ROTC through high school and talked about going into the service (Air Force) after graduation from High School. Her family cannot support her through college and she intended to get a college education and serve (as has her father, uncles and grandfather). However, she got herself into some trouble (be careful *who* your friends are - you *can* get into trouble being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong crowd) and ended up with a suspended jail sentence :-( The suspension being tied to going into the service. So she has been waiting for many months to be inducted (not sure what is taking so long) and in the meantime has become engaged to a young Army Sergeant - they have made plans to marry in November.
I am waiting to hear how this is going to affect their lives, careeers and plans for marriage..............
