Here I am!! Can you see me if I stand on my tiptoes?
Recently we were given two duck eggs by a lady who brings Vern eggs from her chickens once in a while. (He says he's going to the gym.....and then he brings home eggs from his girlfriend! BTW, she's older than us!)
I gave them to my gourmand and he gobbled them down like he'd raided the weeds around the pond (Mack that is.)
Many years ago we had a friend that supplied us with fresh eggs and she always included a few duck eggs - lovely light green ones. They are delicious, very dark rich yolks - probably loaded with cholesterol. And they are large - bigger than an Extra Large chicken egg.
During that time my niece, her husband and two little boys were visiting from New Jersey - Hank was strictly a city boy. They were staying with my sister but we were visiting back and forth and I had them all over for dinner. One of the things I served was deviled eggs...Hank was eating them as fast as he could, Mmmmmmm, yummm, gobble, smack "Aunt Marlene, these are delicious. Where'd you get such BIG eggs?" I didn't think anything of it and told him they were duck eggs.....that was the end of his raid on the deviled egg dish. He turned a little green. Silly guy! An egg is an egg!
