It's also used here among native aboriginal people,(Australia) and also called 'smoking' I've been to some aboriginal smoking ceremonies and they are beautiful.. they burn eucalyptus (gum) leaves and do a purifying ceremony. There's a water blessing too, involving shaking drops of water from the leaves.
