Sri Lanka (used to be Ceylon). On a plantation with servents - that whole "British people in the tropics at the turn of the centuary" type of scene in fact *G*. Anyway the point is that she had a fondness for a good curry (remnaints of her birthplace I guess) and I learnt from her that condiments such as rice (of course) banana, relish's and pickle type dishes (mango chutney is lovely but expensive here - I have a banana based one that I must make again) and sliced bananas, shreded coconut - things like that should always be avaliabe with really hot foods. Also that water actually makes the situation worse, milk soothes and (from my own experience) the tip of the tongue is the area most sensitive to spices so for really hot foods try to avoid that area (I know! it sounds silly but it's true I tell you! ;)

Sour cream for sure Marlene! I wonder if there are others that do the same thing? Avacado too? Tomatoes and cucumber maybe? Just thinking aloud. :)

PS - I ate it for breakfast so if you want leftovers you'd better be quick!!!! hehehehehehehehehe...
