Subject: We call it "Dinner"
In reply to: M.C. 's message, "OMG...LOL!!!" on 16:03:45 09/03/01 Mon

Is that "lunch" in Indiana?
I *LOVE* this post Jacke, I also am interested in the day to day life of people in other places.
It is 5:15PM and I have not yet had "dinner" - as you know Vern is gone and I have been eating a little of this and a little of that as well as some junk food. We don't eat a lot of fast food - so I still enjoy it for a while.

How about if I tell you what we're going to eat tomorrow night when Vern gets home - after an 8-9 hour drive from southern California.

We will have "steak ceasar salad". I will make a bed of hearts of romaine lettuce on a plate, slice some "picked today tomatoes" (we have a place 1/2 mile from here that raises and sells tomatoes and corn as well as other vegs and fruit) slices of avocado and red onion. Then I'll grill a couple of small steaks, thinly slice them, and lay one, still warm on the bed of greens and drizzle some ceasar salad dressing over all. Also a pasta salad and some sliced cantaloupe.
I think that will appeal to a man who has been sitting in a hot car all day but is hungry.
BTW, I could make myself sick on cucumber/tomato marinated salad.......
