Subject: So many of us don't have enough human touching

Several years ago, after having my arm in a cast for 9 weeks, it was nearly useless and I had to go for physical therapy. It *did* help but after it was over I realized I had enjoyed the attention and the physical touch as much as the work-out they gave me.

After my husband retired from law enforcement he worked as an investigator for the District Attorney's Office and many of the claims were against chiropractors taking advantage of people. There is a large Hispanic community in California. In their country of Mexico, much of their medical care involves *lots* of touching by doctors. They didn't get it with the more reserved American doctors and felt they were not being given proper treatment. Many of them seek out chiropractors (who are very "hands on") for all their illnesses and ailments and are sometimes taken advantage of by unscrupulous types who keep them coming back over and over because insurance will pay for it. (This involved Workmen's Compensation Ins. which covers people on the job.)

I'm glad to hear Bill has improved - give each other a hug :-))
