Through personal use I haven't found that to be true. I do believe, however, that if you have a strong feeling about a particular type of stone that you should not use it. Best to find another that you feel more comfortable with. I've read repeatedly that Opals tend to disappear or get lost after a period of time - mine is way back somewhere in Macomb, IL.....Perhaps that's what inspired their reputation as being unlucky? People lose them? Or that they tend to inspire dreams...ones that on occasion may make people uncomfortable? Just some thoughts.
