My mom and I both have this ability to look down into a patch of clover and find four-leaf clovers. I don't pick them, in fact I don't even look anymore. Not a wives tale, but my mom told me when I was little that she never had good luck when she picked one and it's always stuck with me.

Another one that was imprinted on my mind as a kid. My grandma always said, "Don't look in the mirror in a dark room. The reflection you see might not be your own." You should have seen me scrunching my eyes shut as a kid to make sure I didn't inadvertantly glance in the mirror on a 2am bathroom trip.
