**sensing the maiden's curiosity, Klik becomes silent and sighs softly. Remaining motionless he begins to speak softly.**

"I remember the day like yesterday... my brothers were always in competition with me... even then... but this time it was different. I was the youngest... I was not meant to surpass anyone and to do such was an insult... my eldest brother challenged me one night... he stood outside in the rain and screamed at me in a fury... my father and I were speaking at the time and he looked at me.... that look...... I still dont understand that look.... I had no choice... I had to meet the challenge or I would have been outcasted... I lept out of the window sailing down at my brother with my blade in hand... it was not this one... it was a broadsword specially crafted for my father when he was my age at the time... by the time my feet were in the ground for leverage, our blades slammed together... it was steel to steel... blood to blood... it could have only resulted in death and each of us knew that... I drew my blade back to slam it at him again... and our blades broke... mine sailed over his and slid onto his neck... when it came down to it... I was more skilled then he was... only because I was more fierce... more determined...**

**the wolf silences a moment before continueing**

"I... I wouldnt take his life... I had my blade to his neck and he was against da tree.... and I wouldnt take his life... I walked away... I shouldn't have walked away... and for that I will always be a coward in their eyes... it is something I will live with for as long as I shall live... alas it is in the past now... and here I am... Quanshaire is the only family and home that I have... I wish to see my family return home safely... *placing a firm paw on jask and riasa's shoulders* Come on... lets get this place cleaned up. I'll go get some fish from the river bed and hunt some deer while you two set up camp... when im done storing the provisions I will help finish up the camp with ye."

*he speaks as if he said nothing of the matter, and decides to leave it at that*
