BDM, I think your analysis is right on. You've certainly articulated it much better than I could have. I was joking before the movie that it would have to be really bad for me to not like it, and I have to say that it came close.

I wish I'd stayed to the very end, but I drank a very large diet coke during the movie. Ah well.

My guess is that this is the last we'll see of the X-Files. If CC was hoping to parlay the show's success into a series of movies, he should have written a better story.
