Subject: MY JOURNEY ON A BIKE IN AMERICA - DAY 4 & 5 by Kande Rae
In reply to: Kande's Sis 's message, "Iowa PETA news flash: Opossum killer on the loose!" on 17:41:53 07/20/01 Fri

Still no sign of the Iowa mountains. Beginning to wonder why I brought the mountain bike. Have to pedal twice as hard to keep up with those Sissy-boys from the "Pittsburgh Pedal Pushers" on their special Tour de France titanium alloy racing bikes. The show-offs. No breath left for yelling the "Team Tough Butts" motto "Put that on your possum and smoke it." Hank thought that one up...probably after smoking his third or fourth possum.

Speaking of possums. This place is riddled with them. Not only do they jump out in front of your bike but you literally can not throw a brick without braining a possum.
I know because I tried tossing a few bricks during the lunch break this afternoon(It helps me work out the kinks in my shoulders after a long ride). Six bricks, six possums. A few more and SO can have a nice little jacket in time for the holidays. But then as a vegitarian and proud PETA protester I will have to spray her with Orange Dye and shame her in public. The by-laws of PETA require me to go through the ritual, even though these particular possums died the perfectly natural accidental deaths and even though my SO says I have already shamed her in public enough this year. HEY!?! Back later...

Rabid/Raeann
who needs to check on the itinerary for this bike ride as I don't think there are really that many possums in IOWA! Perhaps kande is lost...hmmmmm!
