Lance sighed. Zara hadn't moved for several minetes, and she seemed quite content to just lie on him asleep. Lance felt his legs falling asleep, and decided it might be safe enough for him to try and move her.
After some akwardness, Lance worked his way out from underneath the lythe form and stood up, streching out his muscles. He looked down at Zara and sighed again. He couldn't leave her like that. So he looked about and noticed the couch. So with a grunt he picked her up and layed her nicely on the couch. Placing a few pillows under her head and covered her with a blanket.
He took a step back and looked at his handy work. She seemed very relaxed and comfortable on the couch. He was about to leave when her face contorted in pain and she started fighting unseen enemies.
Lance rushed to her side, "Zara! Zara what's wrong?"
He shook her, which was probably a mistake since she thrashed around mumbling and yelling incoherently, then ended up smacking him in the chest with the palm of her hand. She hadn't lost any of her strength through it all and Lance still ended up finding himself on the other side of the room. The sun had started setting and she had settled down, so he assumed he'd been out for quite a while.
Lance rubbed his chest and unbuttoned his shirt. He had a large red palmpring splayed across his chest. He shook his head, "Ow, she still packs a mean punch. Even when she's asleep."
Lance chuckled in spite of the pain and got up. He finally took a moment to take in the large apartment. It was nice, if you overlooked the broken furnature, vases, and anything else easily broken (and some things that weren't!). "What has she been doing? This looks almost as bad as my lab."
Lance smiled and reached by the door for a broom. Realizing he wasn't in his lab and hence no broom, he started looking around the apartment for cleaning utensiles. After discovering the splinters of the broom and mop, Lance decided he'd best bring his own.
Lance left and took a key with him. He'd be back to clean things up and check on her. He showed up bright and early the next day (bright and early for Lance is about 1 in the afternoon) and discovered Zara still lying on the couch, though she'd thrown off her blankets and much of what was around her. Lance merely smiled and put the blankets back on her.
He decided he'd clean her room first so he could put her on the bed. He was shocked to find the state it was in. Clothes were strewn everywhere, and most of it was torn, though Lance couldn't tell if some it was bought that way. Her unmentionables were everywhere, and Lance took a moment to try and figure out how you could wear some of it!
After his initial shock and embaressment he went about straitening things up. Folding what clothes that seemed to still be clothes, and sweeping up shards of mirror that seemed to have come from the roof. He wasn't sure why you'd want a mirror on the roof, but he cleaned it up anyway. He spent all of the day cleaning up her room, but in the end everything was neatly put away, the old mirror fixture removed, the lights replaced and repaired, and the bed sheets changed. He had even managed to turn the bed over, though he nearly killed himself when he found her blade under the bed.
"Now what is this? It seems familiar." Lance fiddled around with the strange device till he managed to turn it on and nearly stabbed himself with the glowing blade. "Woah! Now I remember. Best put this somewhere safe."
Lance contemplated where to put it, then decided he'd best leave it under the bed. So he flipped the matress over, redressed it, and prepared it. Then he walked back into the living room, to find Zara had yanked the blanket off again, and took her into her room. Having a brief moment of deja vu, Lance placed Zara in her bed, and tucked her in nicely.
Praying to whatever gods looked over him, he left her alone, thankful she hadn't throttled him again.
He stopped by the next day to work on the kitchen. It was an even bigger mess than the bedroom, if one could believe that. Lance spent the rest of the day cleaning the kitchen, he even went so far as to restock it for her. He checked up on Zara and found she had once again kicked everything off of her, but didn't seem to have gone anywhere. Lance was a little worried, but she didn't seem ill, just tired and fitfull. She started moving again and he quickly jumped for saftey. Taking the hint he left the apartment once again.
Lance woke up the next day and considered his options. There was still alot to clean up over there, he hadn't even looked in the bathrooms. He shuddered to think the state they would be in. He also wanted to straiten up the living room as well. For some odd reason he felt compelled to help this woman who had done nothing but harm him, destroy his property, or try and steal his stuff. He chuckled and shook his head at the thought.
"Lance my friend, you're getting soft in your old age." he sighed. He turned forty this year. (Two years added to his bio! Oh no! :)) Maybe he was having a mid-life crisis or something. "Oh well, might as well finish the job."
Lance dressed and loaded all his cleaning gear, plus a special electric sewer snake that would clear out any clogs she could have in her plumbing. (Plus most of the complex's plumbing!) On his drive over he noticed a small flower shop and stopped to get her something. He figured she might be a LITTLE mad when she woke up. He picked out a nice arrangement of flowers and headed over to her apartment.
He nocked quietly on the door, and after a moment put the key in the lock and went inside. He quickly cleaned up the living room, he dreaded getting around to the bathroom, so he did all the light work first. He wondered how long she'd been back on Mars. He hadn't seen her until after the hotsprings. He smiled, that was an interesting encounter. Which also brought to mind that Shin person.
"I wonder where he went to?"
Eventually, after dusting and vacuming and doing everything BUT the bathroom, Lance sucked up his gut and his courage and went to clean the bathroom. He spent several hours cleaning it up, sweeping it out, and even had the time to measure and replace the mirror. It was about ten o'clock when he finished cleaning everything.
Lance sighed and looked at all his work. The apartment was clean, heck it even shined in places. Lance may be known for being crazy and having lots of his experiments explode, but at least he knew how to clean up afterwards.
Lance chuckled at the thought, "Heck, this isn't half as bad as what they did to my place." Still chuckling he strolled over to Zara's bedroom and peeked inside. Zara was still asleep, and had once again kicked the blankets off of herself.
Lance just shook his head and picked up the blankets. He tucked her back in nice and comfy like, and was still tucking her in when her eyes snapped open. Lane hadn't noticed her settling down, but he froze in his tracks when her eyes opened up.
He turned VERY slowly to meet her eyes and only managed to say, "Uh-oh."
