BMF, please read my original post again as I don't think you understood my message. One, as zzzza clarified, Isla Vista is very much a seperate entity from Santa Barbara and is very much a college town which of course will have a transient population. The importance of being a college town is that this setting tends to foster a closer relationship with one's school as compared to that of a commuter school where the student is only on campus for classes then leaves the area. In my opinion, students who feel closer to their school will more likely support it afterwards.

2. I am not claiming that UCSB has strong alumni & local support now but that it has great POTENTIAL to have it, and is in better postition to gain support than other schools in the conference save for USU.

3. My job takes me onto many of the campuses of the Big West, including UCI & Long Beach, we definitely have hotter women, not even close!
