Welcome! This MB was created for fans of the Donald Bellisario Production's JAG's Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie. This is to be a PG, Family Friendly board, and will not tolerate any explicit language or innuendos regarding the actress who plays Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie, or the character herself.   • I think it was in JAG TV because she withstood the televised hoopla, the tabloids, the insinuations of Juanita Ressler and tried every honourable means possible before turning the tables on her former professor. Also she did not gloat when she won, did not resort to personal attacks and took the high road, even publicly denouncing some or the courtroom tactics used in the case.   • The one that stands out to me is the one who had been tried earlier by Admiral Chedwiggen. I am sorry I cannot recall the name. She went to visit him in the hospital when he tried to kill himself. He kept asking her why she was there. You could just see how many different emotions were running through her in the courtroom.   • I would say JAG TV as well, because Mac was actually allowed to shine & to win!! That's the kicker for me, she went after Resler, & in the end she got the verdict which put a murderer away. Too many other times while Mac may of presented a solid case, done some fine lawyering, she never got the verdict (it went Harm's way) & to me it took away something from Mac, that she was never allowed the flat out verdict. • Well just got home from the showing of AW here in Atlanta. It was great. Carla and her friend drove down from NC and met up with Jennfier and me. We then went downtown and met up with Jagnut. There was only a few for along time. They let us in and we sat in the lobby talking to the TV guide people. They took our pics with the banner. I was texting Sandi the entire time. She was at the showing in Philly. We enjoyed the show alot. It is great on the big screen. After Jagnut had to get home but the rest of us went to IHOP to eat.   • Yeah that's me I'm too old to be out late partying at IHOP LOL! Yes I made the trip it was fun talking with everyone. I guess I must have been the only one who had not seen even any clips of the show. It was a very good adult drama with a lot of humor. I did really enjoy the show but I must say there is no sign of our feisty marine in CB's new character Denise. I guess that is a sign of a good actress.     • CB said on her website that Denise Sherwood is the polar opposite of Mac. So that's a good sign that you didn't see any of Mac in Denise, and that just goes to show what a great actress CB is.     • I thought it showed that Mac understands at last that there was a real possibility for her and Harm to make it work. Mac did imply in the finale that they couldn’t make it work, but I took that as a reminder of all the past moments when something good for their relationship could have happened. But I like your version better since it has Harm and Mac together after the 4% solution, the way it should have happened on screen :D!   • Second Sight, & as much as I hated the episode, PvsMac...I would love to hear CB comment on why they chose to destroy Mac at this point, with the whole forgotten husband & affair with Farrow. I still don't understand it, & it would be interesting to see if she had any reaction to this major shift in character for Mac. I know I didn't care for it, but coming from someone like DB its not unusual. Female characters aren't his strong suit for sure....I'd add Guilt & maybe some S6 episodes where Mac changed into Mic's doormat, never got that either...For some humor I'd like to see her comment on Above & Beyond, how hard was it for her to keep from laughing when Bud (Patrick) sang Deliah???       • That doesn't make any sense to trash the character that way...if they got too close give one a serious SO, but not a forgotten husband. It was totally unnecessary, & it was the beginning of the dismantling of Mac by the male writers of JAG. The storyline wouldn't of changed if this guy had been engaged to Mac & went to jail, or if you wanted a husband for goodness sakes have her obtain a divorce or annulment, & then to go there with Farrow?   Well what can I say but WOW. We had so much fun at the golf tourny. Jennfier, Sandi, Carla, Nancy, KH, Linda and myself went. All being previous posters of CB's original board, we knew each other. We all were there last year too, so this year someone came up with the idea of the shirts. It was a hit with Catherine. We had a fun, sun filled 3 days, We all came away sunburned (some more than others) and tired. We got up early each day to get a parking space in the lot. We walked alot too. BUT it was worth every minute. Catherine is so sweet and spotted us right away at the driving range. She came over and hugged us all and said how she knew we would be there. We had been dubbed the "posse" before, so it was funny when I overheard people saying something like we must be at the right place because the posse is here....lol. Catherine did take time to talk to each of us and the shadow even asked our opinion of some people who seemed to be e-bayers. THAT was such a compliment. It was nice to see Adam, Gemma, and the family friend they brought. We took a pic of us "red shirters" with Catherine and made copies that night. Then we autographed one and gave it to Catherine. She laughed when I gave it to her! She so so cute! Her caddy also hugged me good bye and said see you next year! He is so much fun. I plan to send him some funny pics I took of him and Catherine. We did hear though that her website, where she posted that message about pictures, they were swamped for requests. Adam said they just haven't been able to keep up and most were from overseas. SO BE PATIENT....they promise to get them all out! Anyway they are looking foward to Army Wives showing. Adam told me he has seen the first 3 episodes and it is great! I'm sure he told others stuff but it is hard to remember everything said! Saturday was so crowded it was hard to get a chance to talk to them. Thurs is usually the best day for things since the crowds are smaller. I have to say that I have never laughed as much as I did these past few days. We all had fun seeing Catherine but had just as much fun seeing each other. That is one thing we have to thank Catherine for, us getting the chance to meet because of her board! What nice friendships we have made!!!!!!!!

  Each week we vote on our favorite Mac visuals and I was thinking it would be cool to talk about our favorite Mac and Harm visuals. You know the ones that just stand out when you think about JAG. Not just the episode but specifically describe the scene.Could be shippery but does not need to be.(You all know I am leaning heaving in the shippery stuff so it's all about the touching scenes for me.)LOL!
  
  For example: One of my most favorite scenes is from Full Engagement when they are sitting beside the stream and Harm has his hand on her shoulder and she puts her hand on top of his.
  Also from the same episode is another favorite scene where they are being shot at and he tells her "if you were a real marine..." and she says "shut up already!"

  We have talked a little bit before about Mac's coutroom record against Harm.I know that in my mind Mac was always portrayed as a more than competent lawyer just as Harm was portrayed. Do you think that the average JAG watcher noticed the imbalance of wins and losses in the courtroom or do you think it is simply Mac fans who have noticed this?
  Do you think the numbers of losses vs. Harm made Mac look inferior?
  Did the winning or losing make any difference in how you think of Mac?
  I see Mac and Harm being of equal stregnth and skill in the courtroom and simply can find no reason why tptb would have wanted to make Mac look inferior. On the contrary wasn't it Mac who was first asked to sit as judge when they needed help? If the purpose for her losing was to make her look bad then why offer her a judgeship? Wasn't she also quite high in rank? I just find the contrasts here not to make sense.
  Could it be that it was simply oversite on their part? With all the different writers of JAG do you think they kept score on who wins and who loses over the many years of JAG?

  • I was a casual viewer for a while, and I never noticed. I've been reading the win-lose scores, and I still find it hard to believe. To me it was never so much about Harm vs Mac as it was about justics, and I always figured that whomever had justice on their side mostly won.   • I have to agree with Chynna and Rachelle. To me it was very obvious even from the very beginning on their first case opposing each other in court with the gay seamen who stepped in front of his best friends gun on their mission. Harm was way out of line going to see and question Mac's client without her knowledge and without her being there. He should have called her and told her about his findings, and they should have gone together to see and question her client. That's how the law works and the case would have been thrown out because of Harm's actions. What Harm did was wrong. And the tone was also set by the comment made to Mac by her client, "That next to Harm, she was 2nd best". And that set the tone for the cases right there IMHO.   • Yeah unfortunately I do...it was made to look though Mac was a good lawyer, she just wasn't as good as Harm. I really disliked this aspect, because to me it would've made for more suspense if the outcomes of the cases weren't known right from the get go, which they always were because Harm won no matter what. Again, with cases like Buxton, Tunney, Sebring, they were all innocent, but of course Harm got them off.   • Have to agree with the majority here. The case that really got my goat was when Harm was judge and had to interfere even from the bench to point Mac in the right direction to solve the friendly fire case. Unbelievable!! I also wasn't too impressed when Harm acted like a petulant kid because Mac was acting judge and would not let him get away with his grandstanding.   • I am a huge Mac fan but I didn’t really notice the win-loss ratio, it was never important to me. All in all, Mac was written as a competent lawyer and I never found she was second best to Harm, it’s just that she was assigned cases difficult to win because she was on the “wrong” side (her client was guilty when she defended or the accused was innocent when she prosecuted). I don’t think that it was so much an anti-Mac plot as it was showing how good was Harm and how he managed to win even some impossible cases.   • From the DVD they said that Mac's rank was equal to Harm's (even though he had more seniority than she did). The fact that they sent Harm off to fly and made it that Mac later had more seniority and for a short time even outranked Harm to me indicated that she not only lived up to the billing but surpassed it. That they had to revert back to making Harm top dog in the finale didn't sit that well with me.   • I can only answer this one in retrospect, since the Harm/Mac 'ship was already in full swing by the time I "found" JAG (early season 7). I got the feeling, when re-watching earlier seasons, that Mac was intended to be a sidekick, more important than Meg from season one (hence the higher rank), but not really a full partner with Harm. However, since TPTB "played" up H&M getting together, & tweaked the fans that way, I'm glad they ended up together.   • I enjoyed the shippery scenes because they played well off of each other. They weren't sappy and their repartee was hilarious at times. It they had gotten together that would have been fine too because neither one would have compromised their individuality and would probably still be jerking each others chains. If they had been attached to other partners that would have been interesting as well because the closeness these two obviously shared would have stirred up some jealousy on their respective homefronts.     • I think the show probably would have been much better if they had gotten married. It was their bantering and closeness as friends that really took the show to another level. Jag suffered greatly through the Mic and Renee era before getting much better after they left. Of course Jag suffered when Mac was with Webb. Also I think having Harm and Mac getting married would have been more realistic and would have given the military a better image, that is the military was their job, but they had a life outside the job.   • It was the shipper aspect that first pulled me in (near the end of Silent Service), so that was all-important to me.   • At first I watched because it was a legal drama.Then I discovered the ship and I got hooked. I loved the H/M dynamics, their banter, mutual respect and trust. The ship kept me watching even when I was frustrated with the show. Hadn’t they been written that way, in love with each other, I could have watched them marry/be in a relationship with someone else.That not being the case, since IMO the ship was there since the beginning and only grew stronger, I couldn’t see them with other people, and I almost stopped watching JAG altogether when Harm made a pass at CG and Mac wasn’t clear about Webb (NT) -- jo, 11:10:17 05/12/07 Sat
