  • She finished changing the baby, placing a kiss to her bare tummy causing the baby to squeal and kick playfully, before snapping all the buttons in place. The first time she had tried to dress Analeigh in one of these things she had nearly cried out of frustation. A lot of things made her nearly cry, she just didn't feel like a very good mother sometimes but she did love the little girl with everything she had. She picked her up against her breast, bouncing her lightly as she sighed, trying to figure out what she was going to do about their only mode of transporation that currently sitting useless in the parking lot. At least they had gotten here before it started to quit. She had gotten her liscence while she was pregnant and while she still hated driving it was kind of a necessity... • (He had an expression on his face that was halfway between intruigued and amused as he stepped closer and was about to say something to Kelci.. but the memories that seeing her face evoked in him made him stay silent. Stepping into her line of view, he let out a soft sigh and game a little smile to judge her reaction at seeing him. He was in better shape now than he had been a year before, had spent a lot of time working out in the prison and the black tee he was wearing showed off the lines of his torse and arms as he ran a hand through his shaggier dark hair. After a moment had passed while he just looked at her, he looked down at the baby in her arms and stuck his hands into the pockets of his faded levis.) Hey Kelce.. • She tensed at the voice, she recognized it before she even looked up. Instinctively, she clutched the baby a little tighter to her as she slowly stood, taking a deep breath. "Didn't think you would come back around here." She stated, nearly bumping into the couch as she backed up to put a little distance from him. Jewel and Rico had tried bringing up the subject of him a couple times, she knew he had been in jail and she knew some of his history now. It made everything a little easier to understand but it didn't make his treatement of her any easier to accept. If he had his way, she wouldn't be holding this little girl in her arms right now. • (He stayed where he was and his eyes softened in guilt as she backed away from him. Lowering his right hand, he pulled his pant leg up to show the anklet.) I have no choice. (He said, saddened, but understanding of her reaction to him. He had run away from her because he had been torn over the idea of having a baby with her.. and now that she was standing there holding the baby that he thought had been lost.. it was all a lot to take in for him. He looked a the little girl.. the tiny hands, the beautiful features, the bright intellegent eyes.. it made him angry with himself for running that night.. and angry with her for not being honest with him.) • She looked down but then bounced the baby in her arms as she started to fuss - probably feeling the tension. At his question, she smirked, the expression lacking any humor at all. "Busy." She stated, her hand going over the baby's back for a second before she turned, rummaging through the diaper bag for the bottle that was still warm from when she heated it up at the mall in a cup of hot water. She sat down on the couch, giving the baby her bottle, smiling just a touch as the tiny hands curled around it - not strong enough to hold it yet but apperantly knowing thats what she should be doing. • (A knot formed in his stomach that forced a shaky sigh from him as he watched her with Ana. He had imagined this little girl.. she had haunted his dreams while he had thought she was gone.. but she was here and more beautiful than his wildest imagination. He stepped closer again, looking for all the world as if something precious were within reach, but that he might be attacked if he got too close. It was making him upset that she hadn't even said a word about the little girl.. he was wondering if she wasn't still bitter about the baby.. if the little girl was bearing that cross.) • She didn't look up, instead just looking down lovingly at her daughter as the baby gripped her pinky and smiled around the bottle. "Analeigh Gabriella Fuentes." She stated, not bothering to look up to see his expression - to see if he was angry or making fun of her though she was sure it was one of the two. She had just thought that since he was her father and she had been made in a consensual manner between the both of them....well she needed a little bit more of her father then just his DNA. • (It was a long moment before he could release the breath he had been holding, his brows furrowed in awe at the little girl with his name.. his little girl.. He reminded himself as he stood there that he had given up this baby when he left the check on the nightstand.. and even more so when he became a common criminal.. but it was sure nice to dream about ti a little.. and those big eyes left him wanting. He had to take a breath, and paced a couple of steps away and back to her, running both hands over his face and into his hair, his body tense.) I thought.. • She finally looked up, her amber eyes meeting his as she spoke the words she had thought some many times in her head. "You didn't want her." She stated flatly, looking down at the little girl in her arms once more who was suddenly done eating. Her little face puckered up and Kelci placed her on her shoulder, burping her quickly and soon after that the little girl was fine again, content to look aroun and see what was going on - her eyes landing on her father without having a clue as to who he was. • She shook her head, her brow furrowed as she looked down at the baby. "I didn't not want her, I just didn't know how I was going to be able to handle having her by myself." She shrugged a little, bouncing the child on her knee. "I am handling it alright, I guess. Not a whole lot better then I expected but we are getting by." She felt bad that Ana would never really have her father in her life but Gabe wasn't a good influence, she would get attached to him and he would take off, it was just cause her little girl pain and she couldn't let that happen.   • She let out a slow breath, cocking a brow at that. "I wasn't expecting you to make an honest woman out of me or anything." She stated with a slight smirk to her tone that he would even think that she was expecting marraige. A slight smile played over her lips at the thought before she cleared her throat, getting back to business. "I just wrote the check for the amount of the...appointment and used it towards stuff for when she was born, diapers and all that..." She hadn't taken anymore then he had offered though she could have wiped out his whole bank account with that blank check. Her brow furrowed a little, looking down at the baby as she cco'd and reached towards the man who was looking at her so intently. • She shook her head, she was a proud girl and she had been doing this by herself for twelve months now and she could still do it. "I am doing alright, Jewel and Rico and some of your uncles have been really supportive." Though she mostly kept Analeigh away from Rique, she didn't really trust the man - he seemed to have a pretty dark temper and the way he looked at her - she just wasn't sure of him. Her eyes dropped down to Ana as she started to fuss, getting frustated because the man wasn't fawning over her like everyone else did. Kelci shook her head, her eyes rolling for a second. (He asked, suddenly unable to contain himself.. this was the first woman he had ever met whose tears made him react by coming closer instead of running away.. he wanted to soothe the little girl and he wanted to be a better man than his father. He looked from Kelci to Ana and smiled again.) I am glad that you have let Jewel and Rico be around her.. Jewel will be a second mom if you let her. • A flash of hesitation and something akin to fear flashed in her eyes at his question, her brow furrowed as she looked down at the baby. She was quiet for a long moment before she looked up - her amber eyes bright. "She's...she's my world...you know?" And she was terified that he was going to take her world away from her. She just couldn't trust him, not after everything that happened. It wasn't that she thought he was going to hurt Ana, that was obvious, but she knew how easy to fall in love with the baby it was and she was terrified he was going to want her all to himself and push her out of the picture. • (He nodded, his eyes softened a little, but his stance wary. If she was going to shut him out completely, he didn't know what he was going to do. • She let out a soft breath, this was a huge thing for her - handing over the baby to him. After a few more second of debating, she stood up, gently placing the baby into his arms, lingering close to him for a second before she took a step back, letting him have his time. It wasn't easy, letting someone else into her childs life but it was something she had to do. He had rights to and if he wanted to be involved with Ana's life she wouldn't keep him from her, it kinda sucked growing up without a dad when all the kids were hanging out with their pops playing catch or going to the movies - she knew this from experience. • (He held his breath as she handed Ana to him, holding her as if he might break her. When the little girl made a coo'ing sound and reached out to touch his face, he smiled broadly and a look of pride shown in his eyes. This little wonder was a part of him.. something he and Kelci had made together. His eyes went to Kelci and there was an intense gratitude there.. she had carried this baby and loved this baby and allowed him the chance to see her.. it made him feel worthwhile.. gave him a reason to behave himself.. his daugher... his Ana.. • At the look on his face, she offered him a shaky smile. It was an emotional reunion for everyone, her because she hadn't expected to see him again, them because it was their first meeting. Ana's big blue eyes were identicle to Gabe's and locked on his and she coo'd and then cuddled sleepily into his chest. A soft sigh escaped her lips before she stood, shrugging the diaper bag over her shoulder. If he wanted to help out with her, he could start now. Maybe that was what Jewel had meant when she had told him that kids changed everything. Sighing, he ran a hand over the sleepy girl's back and looked at Kelci.) Sure thing. (He said softly, taking the diaper bag from her and slinging it over his own shoulder.) I'm driving Jewel's cherokee. (He said as he led the way towards the front door of the lodge. He stopped at the door and turned to her, reluctantly speaking.) Do you want to take her? It's colder out there, and I don't want to upset her or make her afraid or anything. • She smiled a little as he took the diaper bag, her brow furrowed a little as she tipped her head to the side and watched them. "Um, no...She looks pretty comfortable with you." She headed towards her beater of a car and got the carseat out plus her purse and some things out of the backseat. Heading over to the cherokee, she hooked up the carseat and threw her stuff into the passenger seat before she cocked a brow at him. "Go ahead and put her in the carseat, the buckle is in the middle and it goes over her head, careful not to pinch her though." Careful to keep Ana covered from the cool night air, he laid her into her carseat, making a soft sound when she fussed a little at being removed from his chest. He figured out the carseat without much trouble and double checked it a few times to be sure. Dropping the diaper bag onto the floor of the jeep, he closed the door and went around to get into the drivers seat. Once inside, he turned up the heat and looked over his shoulder at a sleeping Ana and smiled.. it was nice having someone small that was connected to him.. he felt as though it made his life worth living.
