Date Posted: 16:42:59 03/13/07 Tue In reply to: Bev 's message, "Are you actually saying that enron did not rip off people" on 16:15:55 03/13/07 Tue Officers of Enron cheated their shareholders and their employers. They are in jail now. Enron, as a company, didn't cheat anyone that i'm aware of. Some people got stuck because they were asleep at the switch in the current energy situation. California is a perfect example of that. They refused to build power plants and when energy futures went through the roof they got slammed. Enron wasn't the sole energy futures trader....there are many of them and that market continues today. California has come to it's senses...well kinda as far as electricity generation is concerned. Enron could/should have survived as a company but once the politicians and creditors smelled blood, it was all over and lots of good people lost their jobs and more. Haliburton is a great company and has to operate in difficult places and situations. Sometimes things happen....especially in war zones. They have always 'payed up' if problems were discovered but it's not their fault that they got nobid contracts in war zones. That is not something that just started happening. That was even used in WWII but back then we didn't have the rabid socialists that attack the country like we do now. I would highly reccomend Haliburton stock. You will make money owning it IMO. By my "energy stock", I take it you mean the cellulostic ethanol company? It is doing great and I'm up 200% since I bought it and the best is yet to come IMO. > are you saying Haliburton did not cheat and charge we >the tax payers waY to much ? Tell me it isn't so I >gave you credit for being more learned than to dispute >what enron and halliburton and its subsidiaries have >done. Its not baloney as you well know so why put >yourself in such a compromised position . > BTW what happened to your energy stock . [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
