Anytime you use a sperm bank, you legally sign away your rights to the child. Otherwise, nobody will ever use a sperm bank. Also in the USA.
If the woman gets pregnants by a donor NOT via a sperm bank, the donor is the legal father of the child.
At least this is the law in the USA. It 100% makes sense - the biologial father is the legal father, if he's known...
Verbal agreements and written "contracts" between the woman and the known donor are meaningless.
And fresh news from the printing press (17-May-05):
"HARRISBURG, Pa. - A sperm donor who has been paying court-ordered child support for twin boys asked the state Supreme Court on Tuesday to enforce a promise the mother made that he would not have to be involved in their lives."

Here, everyone agrees, including the judges, that there was an agreement and that the woman's actions were "despicable", another man is on the birth certificate, etc, etc.
Still, the biological father is the legal father.
