Subject: Nothing can get me out of bed faster than the sound of a cat hocking up dinner.....but at least I don't find it after the fact! Jamie is showing mercy here; I figured that even though they were against him, they were still "his" to care for. Also, I'm sure he remembered the aftermath of Culloden and all the death and destruction, and wanted to avoid that if he had assurances of good behaviour.

[> OMG, Betsy - that is the WORST dog story I ever heard!!! Are they really puppies in age, so you have to expect a bit? But they did every puppy bad thing in one episode!!! It is so good to see you and I know I’m not alone when I say I love your ramblings. So relatable; you remind me of Erma Bombeck. I think Jamie could never turn away women or children no matter what. -- Kathy in PA, Thu, February 22 2024, 14:21:42

[> [> Kathy in PA, you nailed it! Betsy is so much like Erma Bombeck! I loved her books. -- DianaH, Fri, February 23 2024, 8:33:03

[> [> [> That's quite a compliment and I am humbled. She was a real class act. When she was nearing the end of her life from pancreatic? kidney? disease.....it's kidney. I looked up.... her friends and family urged her to use her fame to jump to the head of the transplant line, but she said No. She'd wait her turn, like everyone else. She did end up getting a transplant, but died of complications. I loved her slant on life! Thank you for the complement. I am humbled. -- Betsy BFS, Fri, February 23 2024, 9:10:52
