Subject: Paul, the greatest and strongest of all.

We all know that Leto had a tough decision to make and that he eventually ended up taking it for humanities sake. But Paul was the one that made everything possible. If anything, I think Paul had the tougher role. I know that many things had to happen before the events of Dune could unfold but, Paul had his trials more than any other person. He went through vigorous training as a Dukes son. He had the best teachers available. He was(I think) the only male to be tested by the Gom Jabbar, or one of few. He escaped his houses destruction and fled into one of the most hellish planets known. He bested a fremen warrior to be able to join them. Became a leader among the greatest warriors in the empire. Became the first male to take the Water of Life and live(except for the BT KH that destroyed itself). Single handedly raised and trained an army from all fremen. Destroyed the greatest fighter the Harkonnens had to offer. And overthrew the emperor to claim the throne. And then had the child that would save humanity.

I am not saying that Leto couldn't have done those things, who knows. But the fact is, Paul had to do them and he did them better than anyone could have. He was the greatest character in my opinion. The fact that he spent the rest of his days preaching against the empire after the jihads only makes him more likeable. Any man that can change his ways and try to fix all the wrongs he has done, is a strong man. I feel he didn't take the golden path because he didn't want to spend an eternity without Chani. Perhaps he knew Leto would be the better person for the job.
